podcasts Episode 155 February 5, 2017February 5, 2017 by Sara https://www.yarnsatyinhoo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Episode-155.WaterHorsesSeaCows.mp3 This episode includes the following segments: The Back Porch, Ever-expanding Skill Set, and Off the Shelf. The Back Porch Shetland fleece from beautiful Eloise has all been spindle-spun. I separated the locks into five categories based on lock formation (see below) and spun each type separately. The two balls on the left are the same lock type; I realized that adding too much weight to the dealgan compromised the spinning. Notice the differences in color. There are also differences in softness and strength. Washed locks. Raw locks of Eloise from 10.9 oz. of unwashed fleece. I note characteristics of musket (left) and emsket (second from left). Ever-expanding Skill Set Curried Purple Cabbage & Sweet Potato Soup recipe (from Taproot archives) Dishing up the Dirt searchable recipe database Off the Shelf Icelandic Folktales and Legends by Jacqueline Simpson Close-up of the cow motif I created this week.
