Thanks for a lovely podcast. Missed Rhinebeck this year but your visit helps make up for the loss.
Recently finished Arboreal by Jennifer Steingass from my handspun Rupert Corriedale held double with
mohair silk and will possible knit her Hinterland from the rest of the 10 pound fleece.
I so enjoy your podcast and your soothing voice and cadence! I have a new grandchild due in January so am in the thick of making a baby blanket, soon to be followed by a sweater and warm little accessories for a winter baby.
I’m excited to have just cast on NEJI as a kal with my friend, Susan. It has a new to me cabled crown decrease which I’m eager to try.
Love your podcast. I would love to make it to Rhinebeck someday. I am most excited about working on my Winter’s Rose Mitts kit. I bought it from Knittingthestash.com Flock Yarn Shop.
Loved your Rhinebeck recap – only problem is that it makes me sad that we have to wait another year to recreate the magic! I made my second-ever adult sweater for Rhinebeck this year, so I am officially calling myself a sweater knitter and am excited about more sweaters to come.
Hi Sarah, I loved this episode from the beginning to the end. I felt that same sense of the nostalgia thinking back to where I was a week from the day when it posted. While you were at Rhinebeck, I was visiting my son, a freshman in college in California.
Right now, I am most excited about imaginary knitting and planning for my advent 2021 minis. I am currently working up the minis from last year because my first attempt at a project was not a good match. The good thing about Knitting is that I learn with each project more and more about what kind of projects I like to knit and what kind of projects I like to wear. Sometimes the finish objects are meet both goals and other times they go into separate categories. Thank you for your lovely episode. Knit on.
Thoroughly enjoyed hearing about your Rhinebeck trip this year – and excellent Air BnB selection. I’ve been once, and we were quite a way out, staying in a lovely house – but I’d have loved to be within walking distance.
I am currently most excited about imaginary crafting that will happen when I get to the bottom of 3 baby knits that I have left far too long. I’m half way through spinning for what I think will become a Mystic Square top if I get the yardage – but forcing myself to get the baby knits done first.
I loved hearing your recap of the festival! I must have just missed you at Gudrun Johnston’s booth, I was wearing one of her patterns as my Saturday sweater and stopped by her table first thing that day and got one of the skeins of yarn for being in the first 50 people to stop by.
I made sure to visit Battenkill’s booth after hearing about it on your podcast and bought three skeins of the Oysters and Purls alpaca/corriedale base for a shawl.
At the moment I’m trying to clear off my needles of various shawls and socks because my next project is a blanket for my brother who is getting married this winter. They already know I’m making it and that it will most likely not be done before the wedding, but I’m going to try.
Your Goldwing is beautiful. I am planning on knitting one too. I really like your color combination as well!
Thanks for your podcast. I listen regularly. I partucularly enjoyed the series on Elizabeth Zimmerman!
Thanks for the lovely tour of Rhinebeck. My recent finishes have all been ornamental -a knitted gnome, a witch, and two tiny cats. And twelve hats for donation. Meanwhile, I have a Hitchhiker shawl and some socks going. I have a goal to knit a cardigan – just waiting for the right inspiration to choose one.
Thank you for sharing your Rhinebeck experience! One day I hope to be there in person.
I am looking forward to doing a bit of weaving this fall and winter. I have a simple rigid heddle loom which I will use for weaving scarves and also use for tape weaving.
Such a great episode about Rhinebeck, although I have never attended it was wonderful to listen to your adventure. You have inspired me to knit the Leni hat, such a beautiful pattern.
Thank you for the rhinebeck recap, so good to hear your about your experience there. Maybe next year……Your Goldwing is beautiful! I am knitting the Soiree sweater with yarn from rhinebeck 2019 neighborhood fiber co and mohair. So enjoying it! It is delicious to hold in my hands and watch the pattern emerge. Thank you!
Thanks for the Rhinebeck recap. I can taste those apple cider donuts! Two crafting endeavors I am looking forward to this fall, in addition to the ever-present knitting: practicing hand sewing and learning to crochet.
Loved hearing about the NY Sheep and Wool Festival – wish I’d been there!! Although, I’m a fleece junky and I would have no doubt come home with one or two that I DO NOT NEED. My crafting that I’m really looking forward to now is spinning some drum-carded batts of a Jacob fleece that I’ve had a couple of years. I carded the pale gray and the dark gray separately and am going to make a marled yarn of them. And then probably a sweater or a huge shawl. Love your podcast- the EZ episodes were delightful.
Thanks so much for a vicarious Rhinebeck experience! We were so very sad to miss it again this year – Rhinebeck was our birthday month/beginning of the fall-winter holiday season celebration.
And that poem – heart-breaking!
